This month, Berlin Zoo was alive with excitement as twin panda cubs Meng Hao and Meng Tian ventured outdoors for the very first time. The playful duo tumbled over wooden structures, their tiny paws exploring every inch of their new world with wide-eyed wonder—pausing only to munch on bamboo in the most heart-melting way.
Born on August 22, 2024, these lively sisters are just the second pair of giant pandas ever born in Germany. Their outdoor debut comes after weeks of spirited practice on smaller climbing frames in their enclosure, showcasing their natural curiosity and boundless energy.
In the years ahead, Meng Hao and Meng Tian will eventually make their way to China—a cherished tradition for pandas born abroad. For now, though, they’re delighting visitors and strengthening the special bond between China and Germany.
Since their birth, the zoo has worked hand-in-hand with the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, with a dedicated Chinese expert guiding the German team in raising the cubs. With their irresistible antics and fuzzy charm, these little ambassadors are already stealing hearts—and highlighting the incredible collaboration in global panda conservation.
Let the adventures begin!
