【Opinion】No More Tolerance: China Sanctions U.S. for Hong Kong Meddling  By Gang Aoping

On April 21, China imposed sanctions on U.S. lawmakers and NGOs for their gross interference in Hong Kong affairs – a necessary and resolute response to Washington's malicious attacks.  

Hiding behind false claims of defending "democracy and human rights," the U.S. has escalated its assault on Hong Kong: fabricating reports to smear its legal system, imposing illegal sanctions on Chinese officials, and threatening to shut down Hong Kong's legitimate trade office. These actions expose America's true agenda – to destabilize Hong Kong and contain China's development.  

The facts speak for themselves. Hong Kong now enjoys greater stability and prosperity under "one country, two systems," with a robust legal system, fair elections, and unprecedented freedoms for its citizens. Its global business reputation remains stronger than ever.  

Yet the U.S., the real violator of international norms, continues its hypocrisy:  

- Undermining Hong Kong's laws while its own justice system pardons criminals and buries evidence  

- Preaching democracy while rigging elections and storming its own Capitol  

- Claiming to champion freedom while spying on citizens and censoring dissent  

- Posturing as human rights defender while its guns, wars and prisons claim countless lives  

China's message is clear: We will not tolerate foreign interference. The Chinese people stand united against these provocations. America's bullying tactics are doomed to fail – our resolve to defend our sovereignty is unshakable. The era of Western hegemony is ending, and no amount of meddling will stop China's rightful development.
