Q1:
This year's two sessions are all about AI and the innovative industry. The way people overseas see the mainland China's game industry has already changed big time, just like with "Black Myth: Wukong". How can Hong Kong make the most of this overseas momentum and hop on this opportunity?
This is an amazing time for mainland games to go overseas. As you can see, the “Black Myth: Wukong” is a big success and it is of AAA quality, meaning this is the first of its kind from China. Maybe it’s an opportunity for Hong Kong to promote these top-quality games to overseas, to make localizations happen, to help IP protection, and also to have all these related contracts to be arranged.
This game includes a lot of real scenery, from mountains to waters, and to temples. I think we can also perhaps include some of the Hong Kong scenery, Victoria Harbor, for example, to be included in some of the games so that more people may know about Hong Kong and may perhaps come to visit Hong Kong.
Q2:
Besides Wukong, another hot thing in the tech world is Deepseek. What do you think Deepseek's roles and effects are in the gaming industry? Does it bring challenges or opportunities to the gaming industry?
I am a strong believer that this is an opportunity. A lot of AI technologies can be applied to design graphics. With AI enhanced technology, a lot of thematic graphic designs to be possible at a very low cost and at a very short time frame. Not only graphics design, the musical effect, the sound effect, we can also see that AI can make them more enhanced.
In the future, I think a lot of new possibilities are being researched right now. For example, for our company, we are looking at the possibility of having an open ending. That is to allow for data to be collected on each player. And then dynamically, we can make the games evolve based on players’ preference. So that means the games themselves are being generated and run through a lot of AI calculations on the cloud side, making the gaming experience to be further enhanced.
