As the Spring Festival fades away and the weather slowly turns warm, the cities in southern China are ushering in a season of glorious flower blooming. Among them, Shaoguan in Guangdong Province is taking the lead, with the cherry blossoms announcing the first awe-inspiring scene of spring.
When you step into the Wumazhai Cherry Blossom Ecological Park, you'll be greeted by a jaw-dropping sea of cherry blossoms. Their dainty pink petals are pouring down like soft clouds over the rolling mountain slopes. The star of the show, called ‘China Red’, is currently in full bloom, and its flowers are shining with a vivid and passionate pink. There are hiking paths and lovely viewing pavilions, enticing guests to climb to the hilltop and enjoy a panoramic view of the blooming gardens.
Besides the ‘China Red’, the park is also home to a rich variety of cherry blossom species, like the pink cherry blossoms and the iconic Yoshino cherry blossoms. As the warmth of spring intensifies, all the varieties are expected to reach their peak bloom by late February, creating a perfect paradise for nature enthusiasts.
