The Spring Flower Exhibition at Lijiang Ancient City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Yunnan, has officially commenced, transforming this historic gem into a vibrant tapestry of color and fragrance. Running till the end of February 2025, the event showcases nearly 40,000 pots of seasonal blooms, weaving nature’s artistry into the city’s timeless charm.

This year’s exhibition features over 10 meticulously designed themed displays, including “Celebrate the Harvest” and “Good Luck,” each celebrating cultural symbolism through floral artistry. Enhancing the early spring ambiance, 600 traditional Chinese lanterns now grace East Street and Sifang Street, casting a warm glow that invites visitors to wander through Lijiang’s cobblestone lanes. Here, they can immerse themselves in the city’s rich heritage while savoring the rejuvenating spirit of spring.

Stepping into Lijiang Ancient City feels like entering a living garden, where poppies, violets, primroses, and tulips captivate onlookers, adorning the streets in a kaleidoscope of hues. Carefully curated potted plants—such as delicate plum blossoms and stately pine trees—further elevate the springtime atmosphere. The enchanting scenery draws both locals and tourists to revel in the blooms’ ephemeral beauty and capture unforgettable moments, blending nature’s splendor with the ancient city’s enduring allure.
