Shantou, a city located in the culturally rich Chaoshan region of Guangdong Province, is set to host over 100 Yingge Dance performances during Lunar New Year. This will be the largest and most diverse display of the traditional dance ever organized in the city. Visitors will have the opportunity to watch these vibrant performances, join in feasts, and even learn the dance themselves. A special event will be held at Longtian Dongli Village, where citizens and tourists can enjoy the Yingge dance and taste delicious Yingge cuisine.

The Yingge Dance, with a history of over 300 years, is a prominent folk dance in the Chaoshan region. Performers, adorned in colorful costumes, hold wooden sticks and dance in organized formations to the rhythm of music, aiming to ward off evil spirits and bring luck and peace.

In addition to the Yingge Dance performances, Shantou will also host a variety of cultural events, including the Spring Festival Cultural Fair, the International Lantern Festival, and numerous folk activities across the city.
