Recent data shows a 171% week-on-week increase in searches for "Spring Festival travel destinations." Traditional holiday activities, including intangible cultural heritage experiences and folk customs, have garnered significant attention. Among the small cities that offer authentic Chinese New Year atmosphere, the ‘Chaoshan Spring Festival’ stands out with a 320% surge in interest over the past week.
The Chaoshan region, located in the eastern part of Guangdong Province, is comprised of 3 cities,they are Chaozhou, Shantou, and Jieyang. The region has over 1,000 years history, renowned for its blend of culture, language, and cuisine, which earned it the shared name "Chaoshan." Notable landmarks - Shantou Small Park, famous for its colonial-era architecture, and the ancient city walls of Chaozhou, is a testament to its long history. This year, Shantou, the only city in China with an urban inner bay, will host over 1,000 cultural and tourism events during Lunar New Year.
