China’s most prestigious winter tourism event, the Harbin Ice and Snow World Carnival, attracts an astonishing number of visitors—both domestic and international—every year. Now in its 26th iteration, the Carnival is attracting eye balls like never before. Covering an area of 1 million square meters, which will soon be readied for the 2025 Asian Winter Games, there’s enough to see—not to mention do—to fill at least a couple of days.
There are two particular highlights that are sure to dazzle. The first is the Olympic Council of Asia Ice Sculpture Exhibition. Almost 30 sculptors from all over Asia participated in this exhibition. You’ll see illuminated ice sculptures that depict major landmarks from 42 different countries (and 3 different regions of Asia). Unlike some of the other ice sculptures in this year’s Carnival, these are not to be trifled with.
