The solo exhibition of young painter Wu Shuang, titled ‘Flowers Bloom in Streets - Exhibition of Wu Shuang's Paintings,’ is currently being held at the Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, from now until January 5, 2025.

The exhibition is divided into three sections: ‘Blossoming Diversity,’ ‘Blue Serenade,’ and ‘Ink Recollections,’ showcasing nearly 100 ink and oil paintings created by Wu in recent years. Her works reflect profound insights into life and nature, with many new pieces featured throughout the exhibition.

In the ‘Blossoming Diversity’ section, the acrylic painting ‘Tribute to Shenzhen’ employs vibrant colors to express admiration for the city, while ‘Butterfly Loves Flower’ depicts harmonious interactions between humans and nature, characterized by soft brushstrokes.

Born in Chongqing, China, Wu Shuang is recognized as an outstanding young Abstract Expressionist painter, known for her intense contrasting colors and surreal imagery. Her art captivates with a distinctive use of high-purity and clarity in color, blending bright hues that appear both contrasting and harmonious. The emotional depth in her works often conveys themes of pain, melancholy, and self-sabotage, which can be seen in the titles of her pieces.

Wu's works are part of various prestigious collections, including the Benevento City Government in Italy, the Stiftung Deutsche und Chinesische Kultur, the Nanjing Art Museum, Macao Polytechnic University, and the Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Shenzhen. Over the years, she has held solo exhibitions in cities such as Nanjing, Beijing, Zhengzhou, and Macao, further establishing her presence in the contemporary art scene.
