Snow Festival in Harbin of China attracts world attention

Stunning ice castle, romantic ambience, free ride, free hot water, heated house… Harbin, the ice city in Northeast China has become a big hit across China and the world. The Harbin International Ice and Snow festival, now the largest ice and snow festival in the world has attracted a record number of tourists. During the New Year holiday, over 3 million tourists and total tourism revenue of RMB 5.914 billion, official source stated.

 

The Harbin International Ice and Snow festival is making headlines everywhere. To make tourists feel at home, Harbin is also offering free hot water, heated rooms on the streets and they’ve even set up an artificial moon for that perfect social media shot. Locals are also pitching in by offering free rides with a fleet of around 300 private vehicles. The consumption power of Ice and Snow festival has driven the growth of the surrounding economy and service industries, thereby promoting project investments in scenic and commercial areas.

 

The Ice and Snow World is the main venue of Harbin Ice and Snow Festival. It is the largest ice and snow amusement park in the world with an area of 600,000 square meters. It has the most beautiful ice sculptures during the festival and there will be more than 2,000 displayed. This year the ice park spans 810,000 square meters with 250,000 cubic meters of sculptured ice, harvested from the nearby frozen Songhua River, and lit up at night with colorful lights.
