This year marks the second anniversary of the announcement of ‘Nansha Plan’ by China’s central authorities. The Nansha Plan has set a goal for Nansha, a new free trade zone in the Greater Bay Area, to develop into a first-class science city that generates profound ideas, outstanding talents, significant achievements, and future industries by 2035.
The Nansha Science City, covering an area of 99 square kilometers, plays an important role in the development of the Greater Bay Area. According to the ‘the Nansha Plan,’ Nansha Science City has four roles: the main carrier of the comprehensive national science center in the GBA; a key carrier of innovation and development for the GBA international technological innovation center; a global innovation center for marine science and engineering; and a strategic industrial source for leading high-quality development.
Against the backdrop of the Web 3.0 era, Nansha Science City places great emphasis on the construction of data, aiming to strengthen the Guangzhou Data Exchange, build a data trading industry chain covering multiple fields and industries, and promote the circulation and trading of industrial data. The trading scenarios already cover 23 industries, including artificial intelligence, smart transportation, smart finance, ceramics, environmental protection, automobiles, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery, and construction.
When it comes to ultra-fast charging technology, Nansha has attracted numerous companies focusing on new energy field because of its geographical advantage, making it convenient to gather talents. Besides, Nansha also hopes to attract talents from Hong Kong and Macao, and considers inviting universities in Hong Kong for scientific research cooperation.
