Get ready for a more convenient travel experience in the Greater Bay Area! Guangzhou Metro is extending its reach to Zhuhai and Shenzhen, with Nansha to Zhuhai (Zhongshan) intercity project entering a peak period of construction. A Guangzhou Metro representative recently revealed that the accelerated construction of the Nanzhu (Zhongshan) intercity line will at the same time enhance the rail transit network in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
This project will seamlessly connect with the Shenzhen-Nansha-Zhongshan intercity line, linking Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhongshan, as well as Zhuhai. Once completed, travel times will be significantly reduced: approximately 50 minutes from Guangzhou to Zhongshan, 60 minutes to Zhuhai, and 75 minutes to Shenzhen.
The Nanzhu (Zhongshan) intercity line is divided into east and west sections. The west section, currently under construction, runs from Wanqingsha Station in Nansha District to Xingzhong Station in Zhongshan City, with a designed maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour.
