The ‘golden milk belt’ in Xinjiang

Look at these dairy cows standing and being gently circulated by a giant machine under their feet. Can you guess what they are doing? After being equipped with milking machines by milkers, they enter the milking spot one by one. It takes 8 minutes to finish a milking round. The dairy cows are milked three times a day: in the morning, at noon, and in the evening. The entire process only requires 6 milkers.

 

This is Xinjiang Hutubi Cattle Farm. There are eleven high-yielding dairy cow demonstration farms of the same type. A total of 260 million dairy cows are raised here, using refined management techniques. The daily production is 350 tons of high-quality fresh milk, which can be processed into more than 70 high-quality dairy products.

Our bottled pasteurized milk with 3.8% fat is produced by optimizing forage varieties, which enables cows to produce milk with a higher protein.

 

Green grass and healthy cows are prerequisite for ensuring hight quality milk production. Hutubi County, located on the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains at 43 degrees north latitude, is part of the renowned ‘golden milk belt.’ More than 100,000 acres of natural grassland here adopt a green, organic, and recyclable planting model.

 

It's hard to imagine that this place filled with lush green patch of alfalfa used to be a barren dessert. Given Xinjiang's scarcity of water resources, the government has implemented agricultural water quotas.

The pastureland in front of us is being irrigated by sprinklers. With efficient water conservation methods, the water consumption per acre has been reduced to about 500 cubic meters, effectively saving 100% of water usage.

 

This company’s annual sales reach RMB 1.2 billion, supported by fully automated production, processing, and packaging. Currently, 70% of the products are supplied to the local market in Xinjiang.
