The 2024 Shaolin Games Finals concluded at the renowned Shaolin Temple in Songshan of China on July 14. Over a hundred practitioners from 47 countries and regions participated for celebrating the martial arts excellence and cultural exchange. Among the top 10 winners of the competition, representing a diverse array of nationalities, were talented practitioners from China, Macao, Australia, the Czech Republic, Austria, the United States, Peru, and Zambia.
A variety of cultural exchange activities were also held at the event, including the 2024 Shaolin Kung Fu Intangible Learning Innovation Conference and the Shaolin Chan Medicine Exhibition. These activities aim to promote the international dissemination and exchange of intangible cultural heritage items such as Shaolin Kung Fu, and enhance cooperation between different regions and countries in the protection and inheritance of these traditions.
The competition brings together individuals from diverse countries and backgrounds to enhance the understanding and appreciation of Shaolin culture which emphasizes health and well-being. Shaolin Kungfu is a national intangible cultural heritage of China with a history of more than 1,500 years. It is widely loved by people all over the world and is regarded as one of the representative symbols of Chinese culture. According to statistics, there are about 100 million Shaolin disciples and enthusiasts.
