Fête de la Musique, also known as Music Day, will bring 19 free music concerts featuring seven groups from France and local bands to 14 Chinese cities from June 14 to 24.

Originating in 1982 in Paris by Jack Lang, the then Minister of Culture of France, and Maurice Fleuret, Music Day is a day-long musical celebration held on the summer solstice. The event has since grown to be celebrated in 120 countries worldwide.

The primary aim of Fête de la Musique is to promote music by encouraging both amateur and professional musicians to perform in the streets under the slogan "Faites de la musique" ("Make music"). Free concerts across various genres are held throughout the day, making music accessible to all. This international phenomenon is celebrated in over 700 cities across 120 countries, including India, Germany, Italy, Greece, Russia, and Australia.

In China, this year's Fête de la Musique will extend beyond the traditional cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Wuhan, Shenyang, Shunde, and Ningbo, to include Qinhuangdao, Kunming, Changsha, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Hangzhou, and Hohhot.

Audiences in these 14 cities will have the opportunity to experience the vibrant contemporary music scene of France. Don't miss this chance to enjoy a diverse range of music and celebrate the joy of music together!
