As the ‘pandastic’ trend takes hold in Hong Kong, the city’s MTR has revealed that three panda-themed trains will start running on the South Island Line and Airport Express early next year.     Unveiled on December 19, the trains feature charming cartoon images of Ocean Park’s six giant pandas, alongside composite photos of cartoon pandas set against iconic Hong Kong scenery and local cuisine.   This panda-themed High Speed Rail train is set to launch in January 2025, offering passengers the chance to board the thematic train for journeys from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station to Shenzhen or Guangzhou. MTR staff at various stations, including those along the Airport Express line, will wear giant panda outfits to help introduce the pandas to visitors.   As the home to Hong Kong’s giant pandas, Ocean Park is a central attraction for panda enthusiasts. From now until mid-February, the South Island Line’s Ocean Park Station has been transformed into a giant panda-themed station. Adorned with panda decorations, the station showcases the six adorable pandas—Ying Ying, Le Le, An An, Ke Ke, and the twin cubs ‘Elder Sister’ and ‘Little Brother’—throughout the space, including the Customer Service Centre, concourse, platform, stairs, and walls.
