Naming Competition for Hong Kong's Giant Panda Cubs
: :

The Hong Kong government has recently officially initiated a naming competition for the first locally born giant panda cubs, who have just  6 months old!

Since their birth last August, the twin cubs have affectionately been called Elder Sister and Little Brother. However, these nicknames will not be regarded as the official names.

The competition is now open until March 7 and welcomes all Hong Kong residents to submit a pair of names that mirror the cubs' physical features and distinct characteristics. Each participant can submit one entry and must clarify the meaning of their proposed names in no more than 100 Chinese characters. Winners will receive thrilling prizes, such as four Ocean Park annual memberships!

A renowned judging panel will assess the entries, consisting of representatives from the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, the China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda, Ocean Park, and prominent social figures.

Currently, Hong Kong is the abode of six giant pandas, making it the region with the largest panda population outside the mainland of China. Let's bestow upon these babies names that are both creative and lovable!
