NP360 cable car, one of Hong Kong’s top attractions, is inviting visitors to celebrate with its exclusive "Hong Kong-style Christmas," featuring the delightful "Nostalgic Ice Room" and "Herbal Tea Shop" themed cable car carriages. Running from November 18 to January 1, 2025, these festive carriages offer passengers a unique opportunity to enjoy a high-altitude cable car ride while immersing themselves in a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of classic Hong Kong culture.
The newly decorated cable car carriages are a highlight of the experience. One carriage features an exterior adorned with imitation paper stone and "upstairs seating." Inside, guests are greeted with a menu showcasing beloved local snacks such as egg tarts and Hong Kong-style milk tea. The seats have been painted a festive red, which transports visitors to the "Ngong Ping Ice Room."
The second carriage prominently displays the words "herbal tea". Its interior, designed with traditional "tiles," evokes the ambiance of a classic herbal tea shop, allowing passengers to feel as if they are indulging in a local beverage high above the ground.
The Ngong Ping Market has been beautifully transformed into a "Christmas Paradise," featuring vibrant red and green decorations that enhance the festive spirit. As part of a recycling initiative, more than 100 old items—including rubber stools, buckets, and storage boxes—have been creatively repurposed into a distinctive Ferris wheel and Christmas tree made from plastic buckets.
Beyond the charming decorations and delicious food offerings, visitors can engage in traditional Christmas stall games, such as nostalgic darts and other fun activities. To add to the holiday cheer, Santa Claus will make special appearances at Ngong Ping Market, spreading joy to guests of all ages.
