The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government has announced a relaxation of visa application criteria for nationals of Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar seeking multiple-entry visas for travel and business purposes. This significant policy change aims to strengthen ties and promote closer people-to-people connections with ASEAN countries.
Under the new guidelines, the validity period for multiple-entry visas will be extended from two years to three years, allowing for greater flexibility and convenience for travelers. This adjustment also applies to Vietnamese nationals, who have already benefited from similar relaxations introduced last year.
In addition to the extended validity, the government will implement a fast-track arrangement to expedite visa processing for group visitors from ASEAN nations, facilitated through local travel agents. This initiative is designed to streamline the travel experience and encourage more visitors to explore Hong Kong.
To further enhance its appeal as a travel destination, the government is taking proactive measures to attract more visitors from the Middle East and ASEAN regions. These measures include providing information in Arabic at the airport and compiling a comprehensive list of halal food restaurants to cater to the needs of diverse travelers.
These new visa policies reflect Hong Kong's commitment to fostering international connections and enhancing its position as a vibrant hub for travel and business in the region.
