New World Harbour Race, Hong Kong’s annual sports extravaganza to splash and shine is now set to take place on 12th November (Sunday). This year’s event will see its quota for entrants is 4,000. It’s time to gear up for this mega public splashing event.
Swimmers are starting from the Golden Bauhinia Square Public Pier in Wan Chai, making waves across the iconic Victoria Harbour and finishing at the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui.
The iconic event will consist of the Racing and Leisure groups, and the new "Companion" arrangement will be introduced in the Leisure Groups, allowing swimmers to swim alongside their family or friend, bringing a joyful and positive energy to the event.
The Racing Groups include the Open Group and the 11th Asian Open Water Swimming Championships. Each Asian country or region can send up to three male and three female representatives to participate in the five-kilometer race.
Swimmers outside the Greater Bay Area also be invited to participate in both the Open and Leisure Groups, allowing visitors from different countries or regions to gather in Victoria Harbour and enjoy the joy of swimming. It is also a great opportunity to bring swimmers and the entire Hong Kong together in a sporting celebration, injecting the city with positive energy. More news of the race is coming! Stay tuned!
