The International Arts Carnival (IAC) running from July 5 to August 11, will be joined by artists from Italy, Sweden, Canada, Belgium and Spain this year. Together with mainland and Hong Kong counterparts, they are set to present a wide variety of performing arts programs covering acrobatics, magic, dance, music, theatre, puppetry and more, all injected with interactive, art-tech and multimedia elements.
This year’s highlights include Me and My Youth by the China National Acrobatic Troupe, a proud winner of major international competitions; Magic-go-round by Louis Yan, which blends captivating storytelling with magic tricks; and 'Summer Family Cine Fest' which showcases different fascinating family movies all over the world.
One of the immersive dance program is ‘+Erba — A Forest in the City’ to be staged from July 24 to 29 at the Sha Tin Town Hall Cultural Activities Hall. It is an interactive multimedia dance performance with technological wizardry by TPO Compagnia from Italy. In the program, children will be invited into a white cube transformed from the stage to use their bodies as paintbrushes to create their ideal city.
In addition to stage performances, the International Arts Carnival also offers online programs, parent-child workshops and an exhibition. A wide array of fun-filled educational programs by overseas, Mainland and local art groups will be offered for people of all ages to spend a joyful summer.
